About Me

My name is Michael Schweiger and I started Restore to Life Counseling with the mission of helping others achieve freedom and healing and experience a restored life. Throughout our journey negative beliefs and emotions impact how we view ourselves, others, and everyday life. My goal is to help clients identify and replace negative thinking patterns with life giving beliefs to reach new levels of mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health.

Through my 15 years of experience I have served in a variety of environments including mental health groups, addiction recovery, youth organizations, churches, school counseling, and now private practice. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Prepare-Enrich Certified and hold a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Denver Seminary.

My approach to counseling is integrative and holistic. I utilize and combine different approaches to meet the needs of each client. A few common approaches I use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, EFT, Attachment Theory, Emotion Focused Therapy, and Christian Biblical Counseling.

My areas of specialty are: Christian Biblical Counseling, Anxiety, Depression, Adolescent Challenges, Trauma, Chronic Illness, Pornography Addiction and Addiction Issues. Our sessions will focus on your immediate needs, past experiences and equip you with tools to overcome challenges in your everyday life.

The first step to pursue counseling can be intimidating, but it is through knowing ourselves more you find meaning, purpose, and freedom. My commitment is to listen with compassion, ask intentional questions, encourage you and provide the tools and truths needed to restore your life.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my beautiful wife of 7 years and our 3 amazing children. I love being with friends, exercising, watching football and discussing theology. I love to sing and during the summer months, participate in obstacle course races.
